A new way to lead and mentor

Be(A)Part is a youth-led mentoring program in Connecticut.

Our mission is to reduce barriers to make college and career pathways accessible for Waterbury youth.

Here’s how we measure our impact:

70

youth provided high-impact mentorships and internships

85%

of youth participants and volunteers are female or students of color

15

educational and social justice workshops hosted with 800+ attendees

Youth must be part of the solution.

Founded in response to COVID-19, Be(A)Part or “BAP” is partnership between youth, community, and professionals in Connecticut. We believe all young people should have what they need to participate, succeed, and rebuild.

FEATURED EVENT

Activism to Action Panel

DECEMBER - After engaging in three months of BAP programing, our first high school cohort co-planned a webinar for their peers about big and small steps youth can take to make real change. They got help from college-aged mentors from Yale, UConn, and Wesleyan. Panelists included experienced volunteers and activists, a college professor, and the president of Black Lives Matter Connecticut.

What we do

We partner

with networks of young adult leaders on college campuses; they lead programming and mentor high school students who also want to make lasting positive change.

We provide resources and training

that transform the lives of young people in Waterbury, ensuring a better life for themselves, their families, and our community.

We bring people together

with a unique program that reaches young people through (1) Community Conversations (2) Near Peer Mentoring, and (3) Interview Placement.
