Our Mission

To reduce barriers to make college and career pathways accessible for Waterbury youth.

About Us

Founded in March 2020, BAP is a grassroots youth development agency serving Waterbury. BAP’s dynamic and diverse team of college students created the organization with the support of local educators, scientists, professionals, and community advocates. Several of the college students are recent alumni of Waterbury Public Schools (WPS) or have deep connections to Greater Waterbury. We wanted to help during the pandemic, address educational and health inequities in Waterbury, and mentor WPS youth.

Our programming and mission has evolved over time. But one thing remains the same: BAP is committed to giving young people in Waterbury the tools and support to create ongoing positive social change.
